New Mexico Turn Around, Rio Grande Foundation and American Majority are working together to bring training, tools and encouragement to grassroots activists. On June 17, 18 and 19, 2010, activists from around the state of New Mexico and our neighboring states will gather at the New Mexico Conservative Summit in Albuquerque. American Majority has put together a training program focused on the practicalities of the “ground game” in this election cycle.

During the day on June 17th, we will be offering Candidate Training to candidates and their staff. After the training, attendees are invited to join with the Activist Training attendees at a “Welcome Reception.” The evening reception is an opportunity for grassroots activists and candidates to get to know one another in a relaxed setting.

The Activist Training sessions begin on the morning of June 18th, all day, and will continue in the morning of June 19th. The sessions include:

• “The System We Face”
• “Leadership Skills”
• “Building coalitions and organizing effectively”
• “Hardwiring precincts for electoral success”
• “The keys to winning – message, motivate and mobilize”
• “Implementing Freedom – Understanding the blueprint for a successful candidacy”
• A Grassroots Panel to lead a discussion about the achievements of our grassroots movement in the past year and what we need to do moving forward.

We are pleased to welcome two featured speakers to our Summit. Former Congresswoman Heather Wilson will speak to us about the importance of grassroots activists in an election. National Review columnist and frequent guest commentator on Fox News programs, Deroy Murdock, will give a keynote address during the dinner on the evening of June 18th. We are indeed fortunate to hear from these accomplished conservatives.

Everything, including all meals and catered events, is included in your Summit fee. The Sheraton room charge, however, is your responsibility, and the Sheraton has significantly reduced their regular room rates for our attendees. But this event and the follow-up resources are going to cost more than we will charge the attendees. Please help us raise donations by talking to your friends and associates who have the most to lose if Congress and the administration continue on this path to national bankruptcy, particularly our small businesses. What we are doing is critical to success in November, and every dime will be spent to support your efforts toward victory in November.

All donations are tax deductible. Checks should be written to Rio Grande Foundation and mailed to:

Thank you for all you have done and all you will do for your nation.

The Chicken '10'

Knowing that politics is awash in sordidness and banality some eschew touching it altogether. William Buckley once said, “Decent men should ignore politics,” but then he added, “if only politics would ignore them.”*
